City pages, Permit pages and the rest of the public site set no cookies of ours. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or track you across sites. Cloudflare, which serves the site, sees your IP address as part of delivering each page.

When you sign up we keep:

• your email address and your first and last name;
• if you sign in with Google, the name and email address Google shares with us (nothing else from your Google account);
• your Saved searches, the Contacts you Reveal, and a record of which emails we have sent you;
• if you pay for Pro, a reference to your Stripe customer and subscription. We never see or store your card number.

We use these only to run your account: to sign you in, send the Daily digest or Weekly summary you asked for, count Reveals, and bill Pro. We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, or send you marketing email. Every email has a link that pauses it.

Signing in sets cookies that keep you signed in. They are needed for the account pages to work.

• Clerk: sign-up, sign-in and your login details.
• Stripe: payment for Pro.
• Resend: sending our emails.
• Turso: our database.
• DigitalOcean: the servers the site runs on.
• Cloudflare: delivering the site, and Web Analytics.
• Sentry: error reports, so we can fix what breaks.

Each handles your data only to provide its service to us. Some are based in, or store data in, the United States.

Permits, including any contractor name, phone, email or website shown as a Contact, come from each city's own public open-data source (see data sources). We show them as the city publishes them. If you are named in a Permit and want your details corrected or removed here, email [email protected].

• Change your email address from your account.
• Pause the Daily digest or Weekly summary from the link in any email.
• Cancel Pro from your account at any time.
• Close your account from your account page with Delete account. That cancels Pro, stops every email and ends your login. We keep the account's record, but it no longer receives anything.
• To get a copy of what we hold about you, or to have your personal details erased, email [email protected] from the address on your account. We do it within 30 days: your email, name, Saved searches and history are removed, and what remains no longer identifies you. Stripe keeps payment records for as long as the law requires.
